Maddison Winchester

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the state of Washington, currently practicing in California under the federal Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, which allows military spouses to practice in a state where they reside due to military orders. I have dual Masters in Social Work and Masters in Public Health degrees from the University of Georgia and I’m interested in the intersection between physical and mental health.

My practice experience includes child and family therapy with children ages 5-17, medical case management for adults living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic health conditions, and overseeing a supportive services case management program.

In my clinical practice, I offer a client-centered and trauma-informed approach. I utilize techniques inspired by cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and mind-body techniques, including attachment and polyvagal theories. In my work with families and children, I focus on emotional identification and regulation techniques, as well as parenting skill building.

Populations that I am passionate about working with include: children, teens, parents, those responding to childbirth or pregnancy loss, military spouses, LGBTQ+ folks, and people living with HIV/AIDS or other chronic health conditions. I offer in-person or telehealth services based in Twentynine Palms.
