Belen Campese

Belen is completing a Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Clinical Counseling, with concentrations in trauma and ecotherapy, at Southwestern College. She serves clients at A Mindful You as a trainee under clinical supervision. She also holds a BFA from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, a Master of Education in Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University, and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

Belen brings more than eighteen years of experience across community arts, education, and behavioral health, working with culturally diverse individuals and families in a range of settings. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she has supported behavior-analytic services, adolescents in residential care, and adults in substance use treatment. An artist herself, Belen has always brought creativity and play into her work, and now places them at the forefront of her practice.

A resident of Twentynine Palms since 2019, Belen knows both the beauty and the challenges of life in a rural desert community. She is committed to expanding access to compassionate, quality support close to home.

In her clinical work, Belen offers a warm, person-centered approach to counseling, integrating art therapy, ecotherapy, and other evidence-based practices, from insight-oriented to action-oriented approaches. She believes in the power of play across the lifespan and in honoring the inner child we each carry. Belen partners closely with those she supports, trusting that lasting change grows out of relationship rather than force, and she holds a neurodiversity-affirming stance that helps people build on their strengths instead of masking them.

Outside the office, Belen enjoys gardening, cooking, and running, and can usually be found hiking with her family in Joshua Tree and the surrounding trails.
