Clinical Staff: Belen Campese

Belen Campese

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst with a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction: Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. Belen is currently completing a Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Clinical Counseling, with concentrations in trauma and ecotherapy, at Southwestern College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Beginning in the fall of 2026, she will serve families at A Mindful You as a student trainee in art therapy and clinical counseling.
Belen brings more than eighteen years of experience across behavioral health and education, serving culturally diverse families and people with disabilities in home, clinic, school, and community settings. Her background includes clinical supervision, quality assurance, respite and support services for Navy and Marine families, and direct work with adults in residential substance use treatment. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.

A resident of Twentynine Palms since 2019, Belen understands the particular strengths and
stresses of life in a military community, and she is committed to expanding access to
compassionate, culturally responsive care close to home.

Belen works with children, teens, adults, and caregivers using trauma-informed, positive behavior supports and naturalistic, play-based teaching. She brings a neurodiversity-affirming approach to her work, supporting clients and their families in building on their strengths rather than masking them. She partners closely with families, believing that lasting change grows out of relationship rather than force, and her training as an artist informs her practice, where she often brings creative and mindfulness-based approaches into the work.

Outside of the office, Belen enjoys gardening, cooking, and running, and she can usually be found hiking with her family in Joshua Tree and surrounding national park trails.
