Kristi Chastain

Hello! My name is Kristi, and my pronouns are they/she. I earned my Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University in 2021, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Psychology from California State University San Bernardino in 2015. This has afforded me experiences creating and facilitating curriculum for group therapy programs, restorative healing circles, and tools for clinical practice. I have worked as a patient navigator in gender health, an advocate supervisor for youth and families impacted by the juvenile dependency and delinquency systems, a therapist at The Boys and Girls Club, and a resident advocate for LGBTQ+ young adults in transitional housing.

My goal as a therapist is to ensure that every person who walks into the room feels welcome, heard, and affirmed. Because trauma is a universal human experience that can shape how we see ourselves and how we move through the world, I strive to create a client‑centered environment that supports healing, growth, and resilience, empowering clients by recognizing that personal struggles are often rooted in systemic and societal structures.

My specialty is working with 2SLGBTQPIA+ clients, with a particular focus on supporting trans and gender‑diverse individuals. As a trans/non‑binary therapist, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my work, offering a therapeutic space where clients can show up authentically and feel affirmed in their identities and experiences.

In my free time, I love watching women’s collegiate and professional sports like the NCAA, WNBA, NWSL, and USWNT, taking walks in nature, spending time with my wife and our cat, and traveling to learn about local history, traditions, food, and coffee.
