Tehran Schwartz

Supervised by: Venise Russ

Hi, my name is Tehran (pronounced like Karen with a T), and I am an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor providing therapy to children, adolescents, and adults in California under the supervision of a licensed clinician. I earned my Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. My clinical experience includes providing individual therapy across the lifespan, as well as facilitating group therapy for adults in substance use treatment. Through this work, I have supported individuals navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, substance use, stress, trauma, and other emotional and behavioral concerns. I recognize that every person’s experiences, strengths, and goals are unique, and I strive to provide care that reflects those individual needs.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client. I believe that therapy is most effective when it meets you where you are rather than expecting you to fit into a single therapeutic model. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness-based interventions, and other integrative techniques to help clients build practical coping skills, increase self-awareness, and create meaningful, lasting change.

I believe one of the most important aspects of therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. My goal is to provide a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable being yourself, exploring difficult emotions, asking challenging questions, and working toward the life you want to create. Whether I am working with a child, adolescent, or adult, I strive to foster a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and collaboration so that you feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout the counseling process.

Seeking therapy is a courageous step, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they navigate life’s challenges and discover new strengths. I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward healing, growth, and well-being.
